Woodside AGM protester revealed as Federal MP’s son

An environmental protester that gatecrashed Woodside Energy’s annual general meeting is the son of assistant climate change and energy minister Josh Wilson.

Oscar Wilson was one of 30 climate activists that protested at last week’s meeting, The Australian reports. The group were demonstrating against Woodside’s plans to drill for gas at Scott Reef.

As chief executive Liz Westcott started speaking, protesters began chanting “don’t be so reckless”. One activist even stormed the stage to grab a microphone, before being removed by security.

In a statement, the Fremantle MP said he respected the right to protest.
