Rebel Wilson claims she has been “bullied and harassed” for telling the “truth”, denying she fabricated a sexual harassment complaint against a young actor for her own benefit, a court has been told.
Charlotte MacInnes is suing the Bridesmaids star over a series of social media posts the younger actor says implied that she walked back a sexual harassment complaint against one of the producers of Ms Wilson’s film The Deb to further her career.
Ms Wilson on Thursday denied referring to the young actor as a victim of sexual harassment in emails and social media posts “utterly for yourself”.
“I have received no benefit from this experience that has led to a court case with MacInnes,” Ms Wilson told the Federal Court in Sydney.
“All I’ve done is told the truth, at significant cost to myself, at significant detriment. I’ve been bullied and harassed because I’ve said the truth and continued to say the truth to many people, some of which are extremely rich and powerful.”
