Officials warn of serious security issues for World Cup
Representatives from cities hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup have expressed serious security concerns just months out from the global showpiece.
They have warned about potentially “catastrophic” problems ahead of the tournament which runs from June 11 to July 26 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking at a House Homeland Security Committee hearing, witnesses pointed at two primary reasons security preparations were far behind with little more than 100 days out before the World Cup kicks off.
