AFL star avoids jail by 'knife edge' for dirty cash crimes

Former Richmond star Marlion Pickett has avoided jail by a 'knife edge' after pleading guilty to possessing tens of thousands of dollars in dirty cash and helping his friends launder more than $300,000 stolen in a string of burglaries.

The 33-year-old ex-AFL player faced Perth District Court on Wednesday for sentencing, having pleaded guilty to possession and having proceeds of crime offences.
