Date set down for determination of Collard’s slur sanction
The sanction imposed on Lance Collard after the St Kilda forward was found by an AFL disciplinary tribunal to have used a homophobic slur on-field will be determined on Tuesday.
A hearing will begin at 1pm WA time to determine Collard’s penalty after he was found to have called Frankston opponent Darby Hipwell a “f…..g f…..t” in a VFL clash between the Saints and the Dolphins last month.
In a marathon hearing last week, the AFL said they would seek a 10-week suspension if the allegation against Collard was upheld.
In 2024, Collard was suspended for six games and ordered to undergo Pride in Sport training after admitting to using homophobic language in a VFL game.
